Position Overview
The client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Cloud Architect to provide expert guidance on cloud architecture, security, and migration strategies within a complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep technical leadership in Azure while effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This position requires occasional onsite presence each week. Candidates must also be prepared for a follow-up onsite interview if selected beyond the initial virtual screening.
Important Note:
Candidates must clearly articulate their technical experience during interviews. Submissions should include only candidates who have been thoroughly technically vetted - without the use of AI tools during the vetting process.
Responsibilities
Advise stakeholders on Azure cloud architecture and security best practices, including in-place application migrations and refactoring strategies.
Develop recommendations for both lift-and-shift and cloud-native transformation from on-premises systems to Azure.
Define and validate refactoring approaches within the Azure ecosystem.
Conduct testing and proof-of-concept deployments to demonstrate minimum viable architectural solutions.
Collaborate with Commonwealth of Virginia (COV), MSI, and partner organizations to align solution design and service offerings.
Configure Azure services to support organizational requirements and application modernization.
Produce detailed architecture documentation, position papers, and technical guidance.
Ensure compliance with enterprise security, resiliency, and operational standards.
Sign and adhere to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
